NYC building owners and operators now have until August 1 to get ready for the benchmarking requirements of the city’s Local Law 84. The Mayor’s office has announced that “no penalty will be assessed due to failure to comply” for at least three months after the original May 1 deadline.
Due to the positive response, the Great Forest Benchmarking Helpline will also remain open beyond May 1. Crain’s New York Business pointed to the service as a resource for some 20,000 buildings in the city that are required to benchmark their water and energy use.
