This month, Anna Dengler, Great Forest’s director of sustainability, gave a free presentation on benchmarking and NYC’s Greener, Greater Buildings Plan (GGBP) to a group of property service managers from the 32 BJ SEIU workers union.
Great Forest is working with the Urban Green Council to offer these free presentations to building industry organizations, building owners, managers, tenants, and any group impacted by the new benchmarking requirements.
As a volunteer speaker for the Urban Green Council, Anna is trained to deliver presentations on the GGBP. Her talk covers the four new energy efficiency laws of the plan and includes explanations, timelines, requirements and exemptions to the laws, and a list of available resources from NYSERDA, ConEd and others. The second part of her presentation focuses on the benchmarking law (Local Law 84), which requires reporting of energy and water use by August 1, 2011.
